Individual Pursuits
All our courses are enriched and go far beyond the curricular minimum, but we cannot offer everything!
It is not unusual, therefore, for students with particular passions –say languages we do not offer, dance, equestrianism, gymnastics etc., to pursue these passions outside school.
We are able to give credit for many such pursuits if we know about them.
It is also possible in the GYP to challenge courses. If students believe that prior learning has covered all the requirements of a provincial course, they may write a ‘challenge exam’ and, if successful, receive credits for the course.
We are also prepared to work with students who have extensive external commitments to create a satisfactory learning situation for them. Actors and dancers have benefited in the past from individual arrangements.
